Fun-filled weekend
After spending a fabulous day at the pool, lakeside.
Then the very next day, Mama's oldest friend (ok, she's not THAT old...:) Jenn and her boy Aiden came to visit us. We took the boys to the park and then to the beach! Both Logan and I slept for a whole day after all these festivities...
It was so nice to see everybody! Thank you SO much to Aunt Gaby, Granny and Jenn for the generous gifts you brought Logan. He loves them all.

Logan: 8 Months
Logan felt that turning 8 months was reason to celebrate with a party hat.The next nap time when I saw him thru the monitor, I caught him lifting himself up onto his knees reaching up to his mobile. By the time I made it up to his room, he had the Toucan from his mobile by the neck, about to bring the whole thing crashing down. The mobile is now gone.
Needless to say, now that he has discovered he can expand his boundaries, he is less interested in napping and more interested in honing his skills. I sat spying on him and caught him trying to figure out a way to get out of the crib...
I think it's time for the mattress to come down yet another notch... We hadn't even started to baby-proof the house until this weekend...
Yeah, it's "on" and I am definitely having fun. We love seeing Logan grow, develop and figure things out, taking in everything in his always-expanding world.
Unfortunately, a baby's brain develops faster than his motor skills can keep up, so all this discovery leads to him bumping into things and smacking himself with inanimate objects. It's all part of the process and I'll be behind him one way or another. It's going to happen. And I'm here to see if we can at least avoid him needing stitches.
Go, Logan!

Independence Day

The best part about this past week was that Dan was off work so Logan got to see Papa every single day. At the end of the week we headed to see the Heilmans in San Diego. Logan found all kinds of new toys and things to explore.
It was wonderful to spend so much time having Papa home and I love watching them during their jam sessions...
Happy birthday, America!
