Hoarder

You can never have too much of a good thing

Sometimes I wear green, sometimes I feel like wearing the blue one. What?

Fun-filled weekend

Last weekend was filled with a lot of excitement. We celebrated 3 birthdays (Nevie, Granny and Liz) and Logan got to meet my Aunt Gaby, whom I ADORE.
Logan felt the same way...
Celebrating Granny's birthday with cheesecake...

After spending a fabulous day at the pool, lakeside.

Then the very next day, Mama's oldest friend (ok, she's not THAT old...:) Jenn and her boy Aiden came to visit us. We took the boys to the park and then to the beach!
Both Logan and I slept for a whole day after all these festivities...

It was so nice to see everybody! Thank you SO much to Aunt Gaby, Granny and Jenn for the generous gifts you brought Logan. He loves them all.

Action Jackson

There was definitely a lot of action on our last visit with Logan's bud, Jackson.
Jackson is walking around like crazy and loved sharing his many toys with Logan.
The fire truck was a hit.

"If you wouldn't mind looking under the hood for me, it's been making this weird noise lately."

Little fireman:)

They even shared a few drinks... sorta.

They were both OBSESSED with the water bottles!

And Logan had his first try at the bucket swing... He LOVED it!

Jackson is a pro...

I wish my kid would just relax... losen up a bit... enjoy the moment... Sweetness :)
"Woah, you have SHOES?"

Hanging with his boys

Off to the pool to visit with James and Cody

Some cuddles with Mom in the sun...

And getting over his "fear" of grass...

"This stuff isn't so bad..."

There he goes! Off the grass, onto the concrete and on his way to the pool! :)

Little boys love trains

We had a playdate with Logan's buddies today at the Irvine railroad park. Tracy, Jenny and Erica were there with James, Cody and Jackson.

Here is Cody going for a pony ride. SO cute!!!

All aboard!

It was difficult to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time...:)

Logan enjoyed the train ride. But the most interesting part seemed to be the roof of the train:)

Logan: 8 Months

Logan felt that turning 8 months was reason to celebrate with a party hat.
So it is officially "on."

Logan is crawling with amazing speeds and sitting himself up. In this picture below, was the first time we saw him sit up all by himself, first thru the monitor upon waking from a nap.

The next nap time when I saw him thru the monitor, I caught him lifting himself up onto his knees reaching up to his mobile. By the time I made it up to his room, he had the Toucan from his mobile by the neck, about to bring the whole thing crashing down. The mobile is now gone.

Needless to say, now that he has discovered he can expand his boundaries, he is less interested in napping and more interested in honing his skills. I sat spying on him and caught him trying to figure out a way to get out of the crib...
I think it's time for the mattress to come down yet another notch... We hadn't even started to baby-proof the house until this weekend...

Yeah, it's "on" and I am definitely having fun. We love seeing Logan grow, develop and figure things out, taking in everything in his always-expanding world.

Unfortunately, a baby's brain develops faster than his motor skills can keep up, so all this discovery leads to him bumping into things and smacking himself with inanimate objects. It's all part of the process and I'll be behind him one way or another. It's going to happen. And I'm here to see if we can at least avoid him needing stitches.

Go, Logan!

Independence Day

Logan had a VERY exciting week and Fourth of July weekend. We visited our friends in Ladera after spending a wonderful weekend in San Diego.

The best part about this past week was that Dan was off work so Logan got to see Papa every single day. At the end of the week we headed to see the Heilmans in San Diego. Logan found all kinds of new toys and things to explore.

He continues to be attracted to anything that makes noise or music. But that could be ALL babies... of course, there was a taste test first.

Since he'd been crawling all week, by the time we got to the Heilman's he was coasting pretty fast. He thought the big open space and smooth floors were pretty cool...

We had a wonderful time in the pool. I love this picture... Dan with his long-time friends, Vince and John, each with their kids. Sweet.

We got to spend a lot of quality time with Ellie, which I loved. She is SUCH a wonderful little girl. So smart, lively, friendly, loving and confident and... not afraid of snakes.

Ellie with Bob, the snake.

Logan loved the Djambe, almost as much as Mama does. I LOVED playing it with him:)

It was wonderful to spend so much time having Papa home and I love watching them during their jam sessions...

And Papa got to come to swim class with us. What a great week!

Happy birthday, America!
