Jackson's 1st Birthday

I am a bit late posting this but here it is. We received our second invitation to a little birthday party this year, Jackson's on August 21st.
Logan was so excited to have been invited to the party that he decided to crawl circles around his friend. You could tell he REALLY wanted to walk and chase after Jackson, though.

You know you're getting old when all your friends start turning ONE. Happy Birthday Jackson!

Did I hear someone say "cold beverages?"

It was impossible to take a pictures where we were ALL looking at the camera and had on a "normal" face. So I chose the one where at least the Moms were looking and looked as happy as we were! (As evidenced by Logan's face, it was a bit past nap time...)

Yum yums

We've come a long way from nursing and bottles... Logan finally "gets" the feeding yourself thing

Although that usually means that Mama gets a mess to clean up afterwards...

But it's totally worth the entertainment!

Zoomars petting zoo!

John, Heather and Ellie invited us to the Zoomars petting zoo. Ellie was picking up and petting all the animals and brought them over for Logan to check out. She's just amazing! LOVE our little Ellie!

We need to work on Logan's gentle petting technique from his current "squashing" one...

He thought the bunnies were just fabulous!!!

(Although I'm sure that's not the word he would use)
And the horsies... Oh, he was SO excited about the horsies!
Nose to nose with a horsie...
Ellie is such a big girl and she got to ride a real horse! So cool!
These are our friends, Dahli Llama
... and Lorenzo Llama.

(Dan and I have always wanted a pair of Llamas as pets.

Simply so we can name them Dahli and Lorenzo Llama...lol)

SAWDUST

I had the best day with my boys at this year's SAWDUST festival :)

Lots of colorful things for the little man to see, plus live music going on all day long.

One of his favorite!

He thought hummus on pita was pretty darn yummy!

Cold beverages, live music, gorgeous weather, my boys: Perfect day

The Logan: 9 MONTHS

Logan is 9-months old today. He has been "out" almost as long as he was "in." Pretty crazy, huh?
.
We had our routine MD visit and Logan's most favorite part was the examination table paper.

Boy, was this fun!!!

Logan's 9-month stats are the following: Weight: 23 lbs, 7 oz. Height: 30 inches and otherwise, healthy, growing well and we could not be more thankful to God for that.

He really is such a good little guy.

For those of you keeping up with his comings and goings, Logan has had a lot of those this past month. He has been crawling now for almost 7 weeks and is now crawling on all surfaces. Sand, grass, concrete, you name it.

We have four, yes, FOUR new teeth coming in, the top four teeth. He is eating a very diverse menu, mostly fruits and veggies and cereals and still likes to tip back a bottle, of course. Here, Mama got sneaky and stole the handles off his Sippy Cup and put them on his bottle to help him hold it himself... Ha!

A few weeks ago now, Logan had his very first COLD/FLU. The first night, I didn't know what was going on because he was so upset and is usually such a good little sleeper. I soon figured out what was wrong and my Momtuition kicked in, but I initially had a very bad post-traumatic flashback to our colic days... with my husband screaming in slow motion in the background: "Reeeeeeemember the Colico!"

Whew! Luckily it was just his first cold and had only a few tough nights. I think it was tougher on us, mom and dad, to be honest with you;) The rest of the week he was his happy self just with a lot of snot running down his little face. He only had a fever for a few days and the poor thing was a bit run down... a cool rag and a cold water bottle were kind of a hit :) Now, he's back to feeling just right and has formed a very close bond with his "Fuzzers" the lion, and his yet to be named, Giraffe. (Oh, and likes to have a paci in hand as well as in the mouth) It is now almost impossible to change a diaper or clothe this baby unless I physically hold him down to do it or do it as he's crawling away from me, which is getting a bit too challenging.

So I just hold him down as I remind him that I outweigh him by a hundred pounds and it's futile to resist. I wonder if this will come back to bite me later, say, when he's 12 years old and he outweighs ME and throws me in the pantry and locks me in there until Papa gets home.

He thinks that sounds pretty fun...

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot, he continues to love all his musical instruments and musical toys. The latest addition was this cool little floor drum that Gramma got him. We have our own version of "music appreciation class" every day, after naps.

HAPPY 9-MONTH BIRTHDAY, LITTLE MONKEY!

Doheny beach

Last weekend we met the Perrys, Sniders and Hills and their kids at Doheny beach and had another super fun summer day and Logan got to spend more time with Olivia and his BFF, Ryan.

My boys!

By now, Logan has no problem crawling on the sand or charging the waves!

Ashley and Ryan:)

And on a different day, back at the Hills' home, Logan challenged Ryan to a game of "share your toys."

So freakin' adorable, these two.:)

Time with Olivia

A long-overdue visit with Olivia finally happened. They were so very busy. Riding cars...

Looking for trouble...

Logging onto Facebook...

And practicing some wobbly walking...

It was a wonderful day with our close friends and their kids and Logan had an amazing time!
