HAPPY EASTER!

Logan took me to the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt today. He was very serious about it. First order of business: Get a ballon. Check.

Get some ears. Check.

Find my friend Ryan. Check.

This is the most serious bunny I've ever seen...

The Easter Egg "Hunt" was complete chaos. They kept about a hundred kids behing this line until someone said "Go!" and then they were all released into the egg-covered field for a free-for-all. Ryan was on a mission and off he went hunting his eggs and putting them in his basket.

Logan, not so much. He's with me, though. Not sure why it's called a "hunt" when the eggs are not moving, trying to escape, or fighting back. It should be called an "Egg Gather." As soon as I released Logan, he basically hurried clear across the field towards the quickest way out of this mess. Had absolutely no interest in the egg gather. (It's amazing how much my son and I already have in common...lol) He likes his eggs sunny-side-up and on a plate. Thank you.

Mission Easter Egg Hunt: FAIL.

Up and down and not across...

I FINALLY got Logan an electric toothbrush at a friend's recommendation and I have to say that it has made all the difference. Before the electric one I was lucky if I got him to do much with his toothbrush.

Now I cannot get him to stop. And he is getting some actual brushing of teeth done! I do have Gramma to thank, though, for teaching Logan how to use his toothbrush. (Look at how well he's paying attention!)

Hat?

This kid is totally "into" hats. His new thing is to ask to wear his hat, or his bike helmet, which he also calls "Hat" and just walk around with it on. Not sure how or why, but he likes hats. The other morning he spotted his Fedora and insisted on wearing it all day. By insisting I mean, he pointed at it and repeated "Hat? Hat? HAAAAAT?" Until I brought it down and put it on him.

I love the tippy toes... :)

17 Months Old

I adore this kid. He's late, for a very important meeting. At 17-months, our big guy is outgrowing his beloved Tryke since he is getting pretty good at walking now. So he may start out on his Tryke but now tends to abandon it and take off walking or running to explore. Soon, it will be time for a balance bike. (I'm not sure who's more excited about it, Logan or myself!)

He has yet to reject any food we've offered him and continues to like pretty much everything we like. He eats all his veggies, fruits and pretty much everything else. I have to be thankful because I realize this may not continue and he may still hit a stage where he wants nothing to eat but crackers. Until then...

His comprehension and vocabulary are just exploding and we are so very proud as I'm sure any other parent is at all the milestones. His doc asked me last visit if I knew how many words he is saying and I had no idea, I had to count. So here it is: Mama, Pap, Car (cah), Truck, Bus (bahs), Up, Down, More, Nose, Eyes, Ear (er), Bird (behr), Animals (amals), Nite-nite, Light (aight), Bubbles, Ball, Guitar (atar), Milk (kack - for some reason), Help (hep), Hat, Banana (nana), Out, Teeth (teef), Shoes (ushh), Elmo, Flower (plawa) and No. Twenty eight, words or word-approximations that I can count!

The Man Cave

As I think I've mentioned before, I am turning the downstairs storage closet into Logan's "Man Cave." He liked the idea so I decided to really do it right and put in some new soft carpet and paint it a nice bright color.

Here, Logan gives me his approval after the painting was finished and dry:
And even helped me with the dust buster. He absolutely loves this thing. Will "vacuum" for hours. Funny to think that I'll be begging him to do this when he's 14 and he won't want to do it.

It's official: Logan's Man Cave. Complete with surveillance...

Out?

Logan looks like he's 17 in this picture...

And he has also become more and more chatty this past week or so... this is one of my favorite things lately, where when he sees me get my keys and purse, he goes to the door and says "OUT?" "OUT?"

"C'mon, mama! OUUUUUUUUUUT!"

I guess this would be a good time to do inventory on Logan's expanding vocabulary in no particular order of appearance, although his first word was: "Coco" -our cat- but stopped saying it. His next word was, "Car" and has never stopped saying it. Basically, anything with wheels is a car.

His daily repertoire includes: Mama, Pa, Cah (car), Truk (truck), Ball, Up, Out, Moh (more), Help, Hat, Banana, Ber (Bird), Aiiight (light), Teeth, Nose, Nite-Nite, Elmo, Amals (animals) and my favorite: NO.

Even as he gets more words he continues to use his sign language and still consistently signs: More, All Done, Eat, Milk and Help.

Aquarium Of The Pacific

Logan and I met Des and Emily at the Aquarium of the Pacific to check out some REAL sea life... It was pretty cool.

But to be honest with you, Logan kept wanting to be outside... My dear friend, Emily and Aksel. Who was almost born on Logan's bday a year later. He was born on November 12th of this year. I love how in this picture Logan is basically just jumping out of my arms... Too funny.
